Online Drawing Games to Play With Friends (Free, No Sign-Up)
Drawing games are the perfect party game for people who "can't draw". The worse the drawing, the funnier the round. Here are the best free online drawing and guessing games to play with friends, on phones or laptops, with no sign-up.
What to look for
- Private rooms. A code or link you share with friends, so strangers can't join.
- Works on a phone. Drawing with a finger is half the fun, but only if the canvas fits the screen.
- Custom words. Inside jokes, names of friends, or a theme for the night.
- No account. Everyone should be in the game within a minute.
1. Sketch (House Party Games)
Sketch is our draw-and-guess game. One player draws, everyone else types guesses on their own phone, and faster guesses score more. The first correct guess cuts the clock, so the rest have to hurry. It has private rooms with a 4-letter code, a link or a QR code, about 1,500 words in 25 categories with easy, medium and hard levels, and custom words.
It is built for phones first, and it also works on laptops and tablets. Good for: friends and family, game night on a video call, and mixed ages with the Easy setting.
2. skribbl.io
The best-known free drawing game in the browser. It has public rooms with strangers and private rooms for friends, custom words and lots of settings. It's great on a computer; on a small phone screen it can feel cramped. Good for: playing with strangers, or big groups on laptops.
3. Gartic Phone
Not draw-and-guess, but "telephone" with drawings. Everyone writes a sentence, the next person draws it, the next describes the drawing, and so on. At the end you watch how "a cat on a skateboard" turned into "a potato at the dentist". There are no points, just laughs. Good for: larger groups and people who don't like competition.
4. Drawasaurus and other skribbl-style games
Several other free sites follow the same idea as skribbl: rooms, a drawer, a chat for guesses. Drawasaurus and Gartic.io are two long-running ones. Try a couple and see which canvas your group likes best.
5. Quick, Draw!
Google's Quick, Draw! is a solo game: you draw and a computer tries to guess what it is. It's not a party game, but it's a fun way to warm up or to play alone.
6. Paid console games
If you have a TV and a games console, paid party packs such as Jackbox include drawing games where everyone joins on their phone and the drawings appear on the big screen. It costs money, and one person has to own the game, but it's polished.

Tips for a better drawing game night
- On a video call, keep the call on a laptop and play on your phone, so you can see faces and the canvas at the same time.
- Use custom words for birthdays and reunions: names of friends, places you went together, old jokes.
- For kids, pick easy words and a longer draw time, such as 120 seconds.
- Draw big first. Outline the main shape, then add details. Guessers see your lines as you draw.
- No letters. Writing the word on the canvas is the one thing everyone agrees is cheating.
Not in the mood to draw?
Try Impostor, a word game where one player doesn't know the secret word, or Mafia, which also runs on everyone's phones in a shared room. Both work on a video call too.
