The stop the clock game
Can you stop a stopwatch at exactly 10.00 seconds without looking? Blind Timer is the viral stopwatch challenge as a party game. Start the clock, count in your head, and stop it as close to the target as you can.
- 👥 1–4 players
- ⏱️ 2–10 minutes
- 📱 One phone
- 🆓 Free, works offline
It takes ten seconds to explain, so it is perfect while the pizza is in the oven, as a warm-up before a longer game, or to settle who picks the movie.
How to play
- Set a target. Pick 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 60 seconds, or type any time from 1 to 600 seconds.
- Add players. Up to 4 on one phone, with their names.
- Choose a mode. Together, One by one or Timer bomb (below).
- Tap to start, tap to stop. The clock never shows while it runs. Count in your head.
- See who was closest. Play as many rounds as you like, then stop to see the results.
Rules and scoring
- The player closest to the target wins the round, over or under.
- The results rank players by rounds won, then by average miss, and show each player's best miss.
- In Timer bomb, the player with the fewest booms ranks first.
Modes and variants
Together
Everyone plays at the same time. The screen is split into one zone for each player. Turn on Face to face to flip the top half, so two players can sit across a table.
One by one
Players take turns with the full screen and pass the phone after each turn. You can hide the times until everyone has played, so nobody learns from the others.
Timer bomb
A hot-potato game for 2 to 4 players. Pass the phone round and round. Each turn, start the clock and stop it again, as fast or as slow as you dare. The turns add up, and whoever is holding the clock when the total reaches the fuse blows up. You never see how much fuse is left, only how many turns have gone.
Tips
- Count "one-Mississippi, two-Mississippi" or tap your foot. A steady beat beats guessing.
- Try a target nobody practises, like 17 seconds, to level the field.
- In Timer bomb, a quick tap is safe early on, but the longer the round goes, the hotter the phone gets.
- Losers' forfeit: the worst miss of the night picks the next game.
